Empires fall and rise like the tide. Move in predicable patterns and all end. There all so called "golden" ages for empires. Times where they are at the top of their power and influence. Then later comes the swift and massive fall. It happened to the Romans, Persains, and Egyptians. I fear that the golden age of America is already over.
If we could imingine a Enterprise like craft that instead of sailing space sailed time. In this new found craft imagine you looked over two periods of time one of them being the time of Romans and the other the time of the Americans . The Pax Romea lasted about 300 years. Many of the great buildings and achievements came during this time. The Romans also controlled a lot of territory during this time. In som ways this has already happened to America we defeated the other superpower (U.S.S.R) at that time.
